How Mumzworld made Snapchat its strongest paid social channel in KSA
An embedded Distilled Expert took over a channel that was bidding against itself and turned it into the account Mumzworld now scales behind.
- ~200% Increase in ROAS
- 1.6× Monthly spend, scaled profitably
- 5 months Feb to Jul 2026
TL;DR
Inshal, an embedded Distilled Expert, took over Mumzworld's Snapchat in February 2026, an account that was competing against itself. He cut the duplicate campaigns, shifted the weight to the Saudi market, and introduced UGC into paid for the first time in the company's history on this channel.
- ROAS up ~200% in five months
- Monthly budget scaled 1.6× without losing efficiency
- UGC is now the top-performing creative type on the channel
The partner: Mumzworld
The largest mother, baby and child retailer in the Middle East. Its customers are parents making frequent, often same-day purchases, mostly on mobile.
- Sector: E-commerce retail
- Markets: KSA, UAE, wider GCC
- Where buyers meet the brand: Paid social
The expert
Inshal Ali, Paid Social Lead. Embedded since Feb 2026. Channels: Snapchat, Meta.
Snapchat should have been one of Mumzworld's best channels.
Saudi Arabia has some of the highest Snapchat penetration in the world, and the audience sits close to Mumzworld's core buyer.
But it was not performing like it.
An account competing with itself
Several campaigns ran on the same objective with the same targeting, bidding against each other in the same auction, splitting learning across duplicate ad sets and raising the price of every order.
Overly produced creative
Almost everything on Snapchat was studio-produced: polished, brand-safe, built for a different kind of feed. Mumzworld had an in-house UGC team in UAE, but their work only ever went out organically.
Budget misallocation
Spend was spread across markets without much regard for where Snapchat actually converted, which flattened the channel's real strength in Saudi.
Rebuilding the channel
Five moves, all initiated from inside the business.
Consolidated the auction
Inshal sat down with the Mumzworld team and paused the overlapping campaigns, consolidating spend into one clean acquisition-to-retargeting path instead of several competing ones. That alone took the internal auction pressure out of the account.
Moved the centre of gravity to KSA
Snapchat performs materially better for Mumzworld in KSA than in UAE. It still runs across the other GCC markets, but the weight now sits where it converts.
Put UGC into paid for the first time
Inshal went to Mumzworld's in-house UGC team directly and asked them to produce for paid, not just organic. Every month since, UGC has outperformed the studio-produced assets on CTR. It is now the default creative type on the channel.
Went back into the business for data
Working with Mumzworld's data and app teams, he pulled past-customer purchase lists to build retargeting audiences, and got tracking problems fixed by walking the app owners through Ads Manager rather than filing a ticket and waiting.
Built campaigns with Snapchat's partner team
Because Mumzworld's Snapchat investment is significant, Snapchat's own partner team stays close to the account. Inshal builds campaigns jointly with them and takes early access to beta features as they land, which keeps Mumzworld ahead of the standard advertiser roadmap.
From the most confused paid channel to one of the strongest
The account now scales without efficiency degrading, the condition Mumzworld needs before it puts more weight behind the channel.
The wider gain is a creative supply route. UGC is proven in paid on Snapchat, and the pipeline between Mumzworld's content team and its paid channels now exists where it did not before. That applies well beyond one platform.
- ROAS: Improved by ~200%
- Monthly Snapchat budget: Scaled profitably by 1.6×
- Creative: UGC beats studio assets on CTR, every month
- Market focus: Reallocated to KSA
- Account structure: Campaigns consolidated into one funnel
Efficiency and volume moved together. Most channels buy one at the expense of the other. This account absorbed a 60% budget increase without giving the efficiency back.
Why an embedded expert, and not an agency
In an agency setting, most of these initiatives would have been shut down at the very start. Here they get approved, because I own the channel and they trust my expertise on it.
Inshal Ali, Distilled Expert · Meta & Snapchat, Mumzworld
Every one of those changes was initiated by Inshal. Pausing established campaigns, redirecting budget between markets, pointing an organic content team at paid, requesting customer data from a separate function: none of these are media-buying decisions. They are business decisions, and they need someone with standing inside the company to make them.
Owns the channel, not a ticket queue
He owns Snapchat rather than servicing it.
